Welcome to the Poetry of Intimacy Lounge

Aloha, my friends! I go by Honeybee, and I am so excited to welcome you into this special and sacred space.

This is the first episode ever of the Poetry of Intimacy Lounge, a poetic playground for intimacy where communication becomes art and relationships are treated like living rituals.

In a world where we are uncovering dark truths about leadership and society, I believe more light and love need to come into this world.

I’m tired of playing small or making it about my ego. It’s time to talk about the things that truly matter to our human experience.

What is the Mission of this Space?

We are here to love. Love should feel safe, supportive, and rapturous. However, when toxic patterns, abuse, or manipulation enter the mix, intimacy becomes "sticky." This lounge is an all-inclusive, safe space for all genders and ethnicities. Whether you are single, in a partnership, or ending a relationship, we explore:

  • Eros and Soulful Storytelling: Authentic conversations on becoming safer lovers.

  • Rooting in Truth: Navigating life guided by grace and curiosity.

  • Healing the Heart: Moving away from the "roller coaster" of emotional chaos.

Who is Honeybee? The Origin Story

Many people ask where the name "Honeybee" came from. It wasn't a name I chose for myself; it was a gift from the desert.

From Chicago to Black Rock City

Seven years ago, I was living in Chicago, working as a server and studying to be a special needs teacher. I felt disconnected and anxious, carrying unhealed family traumas. Seeking something that made me feel alive, I drove three days into the desert to attend Burning Man.

Landing in Black Rock City felt like coming home—not just to a place, but to my own body. I was immersed in a community that valued creativity and, most importantly, consent.

The Lesson of the Honeybee

While at the burn, I was nursing a heartbreak and hyper-fixating on one person, a "dark shadow" pattern of mine. I met a mandala sand artist who gave me a piece of advice that changed my life.

He said:

"Why don't you be more like a honeybee? Instead of bee-lining it to one particular thing, go from flower to flower. Explore, be playful, and pollinate your love in the world. Land on the flower that feels right; you don't have to stay on the first one."


Fast forward to another encounter on the Playa back at camp, shortly after, a friend looked me in the eye and said, "You are a Honeybee."

At Burning Man, you are gifted a "Playa Name" by those who see your true essence. I claimed it, and it has since become a symbol of my transformation from an anxious personality to a woman claiming her playful authority.

Understanding VITA Coaching

I am a sex, love, and relationship coach certified in the VITA methodology, having graduated in December 2025.

What is VITA? VITA stands for the Vital Integrated Tantric Approach to Love and Intimacy. Created by Layla Martin, this methodology is designed for those seeking safety and healing from sexual or emotional trauma.

Why I Chose This Path

I turned to VITA out of desperation. I was in a relationship where I felt completely disconnected. Despite the love we had, we were like "opposing magnets" repelling each other. My body was literally shutting down—I felt physical pain and anxiety whenever I tried to access my sensuality.

VITA led me back to my truth. It taught me to choose myself over and over again. It helped me navigate the "loops" of anxious and avoidant attachment styles and move toward a life of sovereignty and wholeness.

As a Love and Intimacy Coach I knew I had the opportunity to name myself and my business with what resonates to who I am in the world.

A Poetic Conclusion: Maya Angelou

To close our first session, I want to share a poem by the legendary Maya Angelou. Her story is one of incredible resilience—from a childhood of silence and trauma to becoming a persistent, courageous voice for truth.

"Come and Be My Baby"

The highway is full of big cars going nowhere fast,and folks is smoking anything that'll burn.Some people wrap their lives around a cocktail glass,and you sit wondering where you're going to turn.I got it. Come and Be My Baby.

To me, this poem is an offering of warmth amidst the chaos of life. It’s an invitation to find home in love.
