Why men rush into sex…
The wound beneath the rush
One of the most quietly powerful moments in this conversation comes when Sven speaks about why men rush into sex and what that rushing is really about.
"Deep down, he's scared that if she knows who he truly is, that he will not be loved anymore. Out of that fear, he wants to rush into intimacy."
It isn't desire driving the urgency, Sven explains, it's fear. The fear that time and closeness will expose him. That the longer she sees him, the less she will want him. So he reaches for the false intimacy of sex before she can see too much.
But Sven asks men to imagine something different entirely: "Have you ever slept with a woman, looked into her eyes, totally dissolved in oneness, have you cried from the depths of your soul because you were so touched? Have you truly met God in your sex life?" For Sven, if the answer is no — it's likely because the rush got in the way.
Vulnerability as the path to real intimacy
True masculine sensuality, in Sven's view, begins not in the bedroom but in the willingness to be slowly, vulnerably known. To strip away the masks and the ego layer by layer and give that process the time it deserves.
"If we learn to be vulnerable, if we learn to be sensual with a woman, if we first really strip down the layers of our masks, of our ego — then really comes a certain point where you feel like: now I actually want to make love to the soul of this woman because I truly feel love."
That shift from performing to feeling, from taking to truly meeting — is at the heart of everything this conversation touches.
